In May, we reported that the SonicWall Capture ATP recorded a perfect score in the ICSA Labs Advanced Threat Detection report and in August it achieved a 6th successful quarterly ICSA test in a row. And it’s done it again!
For a 3rd time, SonicWall Capture ATP has recorded a perfect score in the latest of the much-coveted ICSA Labs Advanced Threat Detection report, the only solution to achieve this result. This also makes it a 7th consecutive ATD certification.
If it wasn’t obvious before, it should be now that this product out-performs other solutions in first-line cybersecurity – it doesn’t just promise to defend your network, it actually does it.
Using the patented RTDMITM (Real-Time Deep Memory Inspection) technology Sonicwall subjected Capture ATP to its own tests and found that it catches more malware faster than traditional behaviour-based sandboxing methods, with a lower false-positive rate. And the latest ICSA Labs test results proves this.
“During 28 days, ICSA Labs subjected Capture ATP to 653 malicious samples and 695 innocuous apps. As a result, Capture ATP detected 100% of malicious files sent through the system while ignoring harmless apps, thus generating zero false positives.”
The full report can be downloaded from ICSA Labs.
In a time of ever-increasing cyber threats (with attacks directed at the security methods themselves), it is now clearer than ever how vital it is to safeguard networks against new and emerging threats, whilst retaining effective network performance. This is why third-party product validation, such as the ICSA Labs report, is so important. It provides network managers with confidence that the solutions used in their security protocols offer the most robust defence against an increasingly hostile environment, without causing disruption to performance.
What is Capture Advanced Threat Protection?
Capture Advanced Threat Protection (CaptureATP / CATP) is a cloud-based multi-engine sandbox that extends firewall threat protection to detect and prevent zero-day threats.
As a standard, it is included in all of the following products:
- TotalSecure - Essential Edition
- TotalSecure - Advanced Edition
- Essential Protection Service Suite
- Advanced Protection Service Suite
- Secure Upgrade Plus
Who are ICSA Labs and why does Advanced Threat Detection (ATD) certification matter?
Recognised worldwide, ICSA Labs provides independent third-party testing and certification of IT security products, as well as network-connected devices, to measure product compliance, reliability and performance for most of the world’s top technology vendors. Security products must detect and protect against not only known threats but also provide defence against new ones. The ICSA Labs ATD Certification programme, with its rigorous and frequent testing, was initiated to provide enterprises with a measure of the efficacy of these solutions. Businesses worldwide rely on the ATD standard to measure product compliance and performance.
